The outlook is not looking good....

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 22:31
Looking forward, I'm not seeing things being so good. I'm seeing a need to sell off some stuff, and the first things to go are the projects.

Got my something hydro drive sears. Was in a fire, electrical is all toast of course but hydro lines are not even singed.

Got some pictures, will be going back up to the farm in March to take it apart and get things sent out.

Let me know if you have any interest in any parts. Dash is spoken for I think. Engine is also called on I think. Trans is good, frame is good. I have a good nose cone and hood. some misc parts that I need to find as well.

R4 26 X 12 - 12 Tires

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 21:22
Anyone running them on your large frame ?

I bought a set of USA made 4 ply blems 2-3 years ago on e-bay pretty cheap. Just had them mounted on the new set of Rims I bought from Rick Show.

What a difference !! 100% better traction with them on my HT-23 with the Johnson loader on it.

Wheel weights and 8 gallons of Rim Guard in each tire. :fing32: I'll post pics later from my office PC.

Next improvement, install the proper pulley and belt to drive the loader pump, rebuild the loader cylinders and replace all the dry rotted hoses on the loader.

IMO every dime invested is well worth it, this tractor is the work horse of my fleet.

carbide cutoff saw

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 21:10
I've got an abrasive cutoff saw, but seriously thinking about a dry cut or rather, a carbide blade cutoff saw. I am aware of the advantages of the dry cut, so you don't really need to elaborate on the benefits of the dry cut. I am also aware of the cost of the blades. Really just need opinions on the pro's and cons of the 2 machines.
The 2 I've been looking at are the Milwaukee and the Evolution Raptor 380. Anyone have experience with either of these 2.

Needed something to work on

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 20:53
Found this 22.5hp craftsman hydro for sell on CL this weekend ...picked it up for 100.00 (should have talked them down but I didn't have change) . Anyways it looks like it was dumped on its side but I have the spare parts I need to fix it. I did get my first GT with a linear actuator which I was very happy to find on it.
The thing that got me was the custom seat setup....5 2x4's stacked up and screwed together...I tried to sit on it and it swiveled back and forth ....I very well may have saved someones life!

missingdad

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 19:37
Thanks for allowing me the priviledge of joining this forum. I recently came into posession of my dad's 1971 Power King Econommy Tractor. My dad brought this tractor brand new two years before he passed away. I was 8 years old at the time. I remember him mowing the lawn, and even parts of the hayfields. Also remember him giving us kids rides into the apple orchard with us in the cart on the way there-and filled with apples on the way back. I used to use this tractor to mow mom's lawn-along with my brothers-up until about twelve years ago. Moved away, and mom hired people to mow the lawn. So, this tractor sat for ten years until two years ago when I picked it up: rotted tires, rusted out mower deck, and no seat. I put the tractor in my garage, sprayed the heck out of the choke and throttle cable, put in new spark plug and battery- and yes; she started right up! I told my brother I am going to restore this tractor, a new hobby, have never done anything like this in my life. Last week my brother gave me the picture of the tractor and cart in front of the place where my dad brought it. Hope to enter this when done in a tractor show somewhere...? If anyone has any suggestions on anything related to PowerKing, let me know. Thanks, Eric

I need to thin the heard!

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 19:34
I have about a dozen Lawn Boy's I would like to get rid of before spring. I'll make a list and if you see one that interests you, just PM me. Most run, and if they don't they are pretty close. The one Gold Series is locked up, but the rest are good. I don't want to list prices because I'm not good at that. If you want a price, just ask and I'll come up with something. The more you buy, the better deal you will get. I can deliver within 50 miles or so.

-1972 LB "MAG 19" model 5239A (runs)
-1977 LB model 7260G (no spark...have new coil, points, etc. to go with it)
-1978 LB model 7229 (runs)
-1978 LB model 7268 (needs engine put back on deck)
-1987 LB model 7073 (ran in 2010...needs crank seals)
-1989 LB model L21ZSN (runs and drives)
-1991 LB model L21ZPN (needs flywheel brake cable...deck is pretty rusty)
-1994 LB model 10420 (all rebuilt, like new)
-1994 LB model 10520 (2 of these...both need work...one runs)
-1999 LB model 10247 (my old "daily driver")
-2000 LB model 10525 (needs engine and handle mounted to deck)

I'm not ready to part with my older machines yet, so don't ask.:fing32:
I have tons of parts to go with any of these machines as well. I just don't have time or money for finish all these projects.

Wet Brakes

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 19:27
Do the holes on the wet brake disks need to be aligned or offset?

I noticed on my brake linings that they have a white and a green dot painted on them. Can anyone tell me what these dots possible mean.

Any info would be great

This is for a Farmtrac 545DTC/Montana 545DTC with wet brakes. From what i have been told it is a pretty close clone of a Ford 3910 or a 3620

Thanks

hi there long time.

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 19:14
hi hope you all doing well.

i am sure i am not the busiest or best at inputting here ... but life is taking a bit of change sort of positive.

if you google malta europe you get a glimps. . my parents home/farm is in nadur gozo and i work in valletta malta. a very short distance but translates in a daily commute of 4 hrs in all. . . .

in the past weeks i have been really upset and worried about parent's inability of helping with feeding of animals. . .

now just being called to transfer to gozo. a very important waiting list to respect. i didnt know i was so close to moving. and if i ignore this transfer i can forget about working as a teacher in gozo because the list is terrible. . . problem is i feel that it is not true and that i might be pushed back to malta any sooner. :S

ON THE TRACTORS POINT OF VIEW
>i am eyeing a used reversible plough for 12hp tractors but still would be fine for my 16hp kubota. might not go so deep perhaps 10 inch or 12 inch with respect to the 14 inch plough as mentioned in manual.

>i am also going to try order a TFU1000 mower from www.bellonm.it. it is 1m cut - small but handy and tractor handles it with ease.

joe

still i feel lost and not so sparkly. . .

FS Sears 1876 and newer Plastic Dash UNBROKEN (MA) Will ship

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 18:51
I have this for sale on My Ebay- I took it off my 1977 Sears 18/6 I know the price seems high, but I have seen the fiberglass ones sell for $45+ so I think a starting price of $60 is decent considering they never show up unbroken.

I am willing to work with the price I have set for buy it now with MTF members- if interested PM me. There are no breaks in it at all, I have epoxied washers in the holes for Headlights and Choke so they won't break. Does not come with any wiring or cables.

A new Pasquali owner

Mon, 02/06/2012 - 18:41
I just bought my first tractor, a Pasquali 997, with loader and backhoe. I needed a small transportable backhoe to do work at the ranch we are developing. We are going to build a small house and need to dig footing, water and sewer line trenches, as well as grade and move material. This was the cheapest small backhoe I could find at $5500, and looks to be a powerful machine, plus wide and low profile which is good, due to the steep mountain location we are at. I look forward to interesting conversation here, thanks!

Feeling down?

Feeling Sad? Unappreciated? Having a Bad Day?

The next time you feel that nobody loves you; no one cares, or that no one ever notices you, think of this guy:

Things Got Ya Down? Well Then, Consider These ... READ ON!!!

In a hospital's Intensive Care Unit, patients always died in the same bed, on Sunday morning, at about 11:00 am, regardless of their medical condition. This puzzled the doctors and some even thought it had something to do with the supernatural.

No one could solve the mystery as to why the deaths occurred around 11:00 AM Sunday, so a worldwide team of experts was assembled to investigate the cause of the incidents. The next Sunday morning, a few minutes before 11:00 AM all of the doctors and nurses nervously waited outside the ward to see for themselves what the terrible phenomenon was all about. Some were holding wooden crosses, prayer books, and other holy objects to ward off the evil spirits Just when the clock struck 11:00, Fernando Rodriguez, the part-time Sunday sweeper, entered the ward and unplugged the life support system so he could use the vacuum cleaner.

Still Having a Bad Day?

The average cost of rehabilitating a seal after the Exxon Valdez Oil spill in Alaska was $80,000.00 At a special ceremony, two of the most expensively saved animals were being released back into the wild amid cheers and applause from onlookers. A minute later, in full view, a killer whale ate them both.

Still think you are having a Bad Day?

A woman came home to find her husband in the kitchen shaking frantically, almost in a dancing frenzy, with some kind of wire running from his waist towards the electric kettle. Intending to jolt him away from the deadly current, sheran outside and grabbed a handy plank of woodand smacked him with it, breaking his arm in two places. Up to that moment, he had been happily listening to his iPod.

Are Ya OK Now? - No?

Two animal rights defenders were protesting the cruelty of sending pigs to a slaughterhouse in Bonn, Germany. Suddenly, all two thousand pigs broke loose and escaped through a broken fence, stampeding madly. The two helpless protesters were trampled to death.

What? STILL having a Bad Day?

A terrorist forgot pay enough postage on a letter bomb. It came back to him with 'Return to Sender' stamped on it. Forgetting it was the bomb; he opened it and was blown to bits!

There now, Feeling Better?:dunno:
