I have a torn boot on the supersteer stabilizer bar. Has anyone replaced one of these. My question is that there is mounting plate above the bar that has a nut and cotter pin. Do I need to drop that plate or can I just get it done with it in place? If you have done it how hard was it?

Okay...received stick stoppers from Peanut today and just wondered how to install them. I realize the smaller piece replaces the plastic one, but where/how does the other part fit? Just thought I would ask before I got dirty. thanks

I am hoping that someone can help me. My 2005 model has been pretty care-free, but yesterday out of the blue, it wouldn't start. I had driven it up to the house, turned it off. Then after 2 minutes when I came back, it would not start. The key caused the normal clicking sound (fuel solenoid?), but no starter noise or action. Lights were good. Battery voltage (still original battery) reads 12.6V.
I thought it might be the starter (solenoid), so I tried to use a screw driver at the starter to short it to start. I got sparks but nothing happened. I tried a second time and still nothing. Now the key action does nothing (no clicking, no lights -- nothing).
I tested the battery again and the volts are still there. Power shows up at the alternator and the cable to the starter. I pulled every fuse and they are all good.
I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Quadratec,
A company I've been dealing with for about 20 years. Reason I've stuck with them so long is they ALWAYS have quality products, along with expert advise, back then, and even now. They know their equipment.
With this being said. They have just introduced a new winch, which I don't even doubt that it will be a great item. They are going to release it in March 2012.

Quadratec Part No: 92122.2000
Take a look, for under 300 dollars, Don't see where you can go wrong.
Something to think about if you " JUST CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT " !!!!
......... two guns
Post Script:
They have MANY other quality items that one can use on the RTV's !!!!

No I am not :beatdeadhorse5: I found a alternative to buying the K7571-91320 / K7561-01220 Rear shaft U joints from Kubota for $60 each. Took machine apart to replace leaking shaft seal and discovered that the U joint were bad. Didnt figure that local dealer had them in stock anyway so I started looking around online and found that a lot of people are using the 397 precisions but grinding down the sides of there yokes but that didnt sound like a very good idea to me so I tracked down one that fits without modification. A 1-1557DL from Autozone(about $9) will fit and the 98-703 Transtar or a 5-1503X Spicer(about $25). All you need to do to get them in there is clean the paint and buildup off of both edges and they went right in for me in the vise. The spicer ones come with the wrong clips so you have to reuse your originals but the ones from autozone come with the right clips not sure on the transtars. They do sit a little bit lower in the joint so the cap is slightly recessed inside of the yoke but that doesnt hurt anything:wink: Thanks to
bordercollie for pointing me in the right direction on the ujoints, went to local autoparts store and they found these ones that were a little bit narrower but couldnt get them fast enough so I had to go to autozone...

Hi Everyone !
I have a 2009 rtv900 with 480hrs
I just signed up as a new member and have been reading your posts on rear u joint replacement.
A couple questions for you on the procedure to replace only the outer rear u joint assy. closest to the wheel with the new grease fitting.
Do I need to remove the complete bumper/ rear axle or can I just drop down the side with the bad u joint only?
Do I need to drain the transmission and remove the inner u joint in order to remove the outer u joint or can I detach where the rubber boot is?
Thank you in advance
Great forum !

I found this pin laying in the spot I park my RTV900. I have not found a part loose or missing, but I have not removed any of the cover plates underneath yet. Shifting, accelerator, brake, 2WD/4WD levers all seem to work properly. The paint on the pin is a Kubota steel gray color. Before I start removing plates, I thought someone might identify the pin. Thanks a bunch in advance if you can ID it.

I recently had the pto clutch and high/low clutch replaced in my open station 3140. I got the bill today from the dealer and was suprised at the number of hours labour. It was way over what I was quoted. How long would an experienced John Deere tech take to do this job? Does the farm equipment industry use flat rate times? If so, does anyone know what it would be to do this job?

I needed just a little more room between the steering wheel and the back of the seat, so I had a piece of 1/2 plywood covered with some 1 thick padding and vinyl upholstery covering to replace the factory back bolster. I have found it to be much more comfortable than the thicker factory version. JH

Well I finished building the rear screen. Had to weld pieces of the tubing together to get two long enough for the top and bottom. Also pieced the screen together to make it wide enough. All made from stainless. Made the bushings at the top from piece of Delrin I found. All made from scrap stainless I found at the local recycler.

My 2020 will drive for 50-60 feet, then the left brake locks up. It did this yesterday AM, I let it sit for about an hour, it was OK then the same thing happened. It does every time I use it. Neither brake pedal will depress, also. All this has happened since it got cold in ND, which, I'm not sure is coincidence or if there is ice somewhere in the brake system. It's the left wheel only that locks up. Any suggestions to how I might fix this? If you need more info, please ask. Thanks, guys. Mike

I've been lurking and reading for awhile. I traded a Kubota tractor in for a RTV 500 and a ZG 222 zero turn mower. Loved the tractor but all the house stuff was done and I wanted some fun. I use the RTV for plowing (no snow this year) and around the neighborhood. The dog and I have the majority of the hours just cruising out to the mailbox and back.
I've learned a lot here and you guys make me laugh. I'd love to have you all as neighbors. I may have questions so I thought I'd say hello first.
